    • Retrofitting and new construction measures (column/beam strengthening, laminated/treated glazing, shielding, fragmentation containment, and compartmentation) following UNDSS blast guidance and proven engineering practice.

  5. Mechanical, Electrical & Life-Safety Systems

    • Redundant power and communications, fire detection/suppression, secure generator rooms, and HVAC designs mindful of secure routes and protective layouts. Services include installation, testing, and commissioning.

  6. Environmental & Social Compliance (ESIA / Safeguards)

    • Where required we deliver scoped/full Environmental & Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), community health & safety plans and mitigation measures aligned with UN/UNDP SES practice.

  7. Occupational Health, Safety & Security Management

    • Site OHS programs, contractor vetting, emergency plans, confined-space and working-at-height controls, and security incident reporting in line with UNSMS policy and MOSS requirements.

  8. Maintenance, Security Upgrades & Handover

    • Planned maintenance, security upgrades, and technical handover packages including O&M manuals, structural certificates, and training for client staff on security features and emergency procedures.

UNDSS / MOSS compliance — what Vibis delivers

When building or retrofitting in dangerous areas, Vibis operates to the core UNDSS/UNSMS risk-management concepts:

  • Risk-based design: Projects start with a Security Risk Assessment (SRA) and application of the Security Risk Management (SRM) process; mitigation measures are prioritized by operational necessity vs. risk.

  • Minimum Operating Security Standards (MOSS): Vibis design and build solutions consider MOSS requirements for site hardening, access control, screening, and operational continuity.

  • Blast protection & standoff: Standoff distance, facade glazing, shielding and progressive-collapse measures are applied per UNDSS blast guidance and international best practice. Structural remediation is pursued only after non-structural measures (traffic control, screening, screening of vehicles, controlled access) have been considered.

  • Coordination with security actors: Vibis integrates design reviews with UNDSS/security advisors and client security managers to ensure operational and security procedures (e.g., vehicle screening, restricted parking, traffic flows) are feasible and enforceable on the ground.
